...the future master educators of this class will email me when you are in your first year teaching and let me come read to your students or just come watch you with your students. You all have a FIRE, a FUN and a FORCE about you that can truly impact kids' lives.
...those of you who choose to do something other than k12 education will realize that your FIRE, FUN and FORCE translates into bravery and demonstrates what courageous people you are for having the integrity it takes to do the right thing for kids and choosing a profession that matches your true interests, skills and passions.
Thanks to all of you for putting CHILDREN and STUDENT LEARNING first!
Did I tell you that you got one bonus point for every sermon I preached this semester? Who counted? How many were there? Can you name them?

lets see, hummm, I think there was around 50, is that how much the final is worth :-) j/k
If you can list 'em then I guess there were :-)
In all seriousness, are we really getting bonus points?
If so, I could probably try to go back and think of some...
I thoroughly enjoyed ALL of your sermons this semester. If you can't bring a little bit of outside life into the classroom, then what's the point? I have written down throughout my notebook and calendar, little quotes that say underneath "-Cathy White". (And I'll probably use them again someday!) You have so many insightful things to say and I don't know another professor who is willing to share like you. :)
I enjoyed your class to the fullest and I feel like I learned so much more than I had expected. (Not saying that I had low expectations of you, no. I didn't know what to expect being new here.)
Anywho, you are an amazing woman and teacher and you bring so much to the classroom with you. Your spirit and enthusiasm for teaching has been so wonderfully contageous. I truly do look up to you and hope that I, too, can embrace the same enthusiasm and dedication for teaching and students as you do.
THANK YOU for being you
(and doing what you do),
Alisa Friedly
Oh, and if you're still working in Frankfort and you have some free time for coffee or whatever, do let me know :)
I agree with Alisa. If you were not truly passionate about your job and children, you would not care and not give us those little sermons.
Your sermons just gave me the desire to be a better teacher. I don't want to be just one of "those" teachers. I want to make a difference and be an excellent teacher and your sermons just push me to be that person even more.
I find that rather funny if I do say so myself. Come one now, all you'd have to do is count how many class meetings we had...and that's how many times we had a "preachin' to," correct?! haha. Not saying that's a bad thing...just saying in general...lol
Sami, Sami, Sami! Surely there were some classes with more than one sermon . . or were you sleeping back there!
I agree that the 'sermons' were used to teach us lessons and meant in a good manner.
When we are in the 'real world' teaching we have to know how to encounter things that might come our way. If we just learn book methods and we're not ready for real world situations, then we will not be fully prepared.
haha....well ms. white...you left that one wide open...so i had no choice but to be a smart alic... ;) just keeping it light-hearted. :)
