Class
I enjoyed class Monday and getting to watch that video. I can't wait to start on my language sample, because, I love working with kids and listening to them talk. I have a nephew who is just learning to talk and I love just sitting down with him and hearing what he has to say. I was just wondering if I could do the language sample with my nephew. He is 2 and like I said before he is just learning to talk. So I was just wondering if that would be alright?

Yes, I would encourage you to play with him and video tape it. Can you identify the turns you both take and the utterances he makes. You will then attempt to transcribe his utterances. I think it will be very interesting to see exactly what he is saying, the language he is using and how he is using language.
