Please Pray

Hey all,

I am posting this to see if you all can pray for my 9 year old cousin Tyler. On Wednesday the 10th, Tyler was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. The car was speeding and on the wrong side of the road. The police are doing an investigation due to the possibility that the driver could be under the influence of drugs. Anyway, Tyler was airlifted immediately to UT on Wednesday. The Jeep has literally crushed my cousin's body. His chest is caved in due to the Jeep speeding over him. He also has a broken leg and arm. 80% of his flesh is missing from his face, chest, and neck. But right now the main concern is his brain. He has severe brain damage and it's suffering from swelling. He has already had four major brain surgeries in the past three days to try to reduce the swelling. Right now he is stable with the life support, but the doctor's are honest with my family and said that he needs a miracle right now. It's a game of waiting.

If any of you could, please pray for my cousin and his parents. My parents and I are staying with them @ UT throughout the weekend...so if there's any change I will give the class an update Monday night. Your prayers are appreciated...thanks everyone and God bless!

Thanks for sharing, Whitney. I have seen God "move mountains" over the past year. Often I've not understood why things have happened and at times why He answered other prayers in the way He did. But, I have learned to plant my feet firmly in reality and put my trust in an almighty God. I will be praying often for Tyler and your family.

Well, The pressure on his brain went down 30 points the evening of the last surgery (Thursday). So that is an amazing blessing from God! There has not been any changes since then though, and the doctor's say that's good but it also worries them a little.

After church, me, my parents, and Tyler's siblings went to the site where he was hit and had a moment of silence for Tyler. We also went to gather up his bicycle and both of his shoes.

The lady was going atleast 60 mph on a 15 mph road! We measured the skid marks and they measured to be around 50 feet. So when she hit Tyler he went around 35-40 feet with her.

Just keep praying! My parents and I are keeping his siblings with us so they can go back to school on Monday. They will be staying with us for atleast 2 months...keep them in your prayers as well (Amber - 14 yrs. and Michael - 12 years); Michael was there when Tyler was hit; in fact Michael got injured himself - she ran over his left leg...but Michael just has some scrapes and bruises - but a load full of guilt right now!

Thanks for your prayers and God bless.

I will keep Tyler and Michael in my prayers along with you and your entire family. I hope that everything makes a turn for the best. If there is anything I can do in class to help you out (such as take notes or anything if you have to miss) let me know.

Oh no! I am so sorry your cousin is having to go through that mess. I can only imagine how scared he is, or if he even realizes how serious this is.

I will keep him in my prayers, along with you and your family. I am asking God to be with the doctors as they guide him to recovery, and for God to be with your cousin, sending him the strength to get well.

Please keep us updated.

I have not been able to read the blog lately either, but I am sorry to hear about Tyler's accident. Also, it is heart-wrenching to hear that his brother witnessed the accident and is feeling guilty. How hard that must be for him as well. Both of them and your family are in a lot of people's prayers because of this blog. That's gotta be a pretty big pull for a miracle.

Whitney, how is Tyler doing? How are his parents holding up through this? I know this must be incredibly tough for them? Know he continues to be in the prayers of so many people.
