Thank you so much for the blog posts and all of the emails sending well wishes or letting me know you are praying. God certainly answers are prayers and cares for us in so many ways. Sekoe's surgery was successful. The doctor put a titanium plate and two screws under his eye socket to hold his eye in place. The fractured eye socket will heal on its own. The plate is to ensure the eye stays in place. We are hoping his vision will return to normal (very important for a profoundly deaf person). He came through surgery well and was feeling ok when we left the hospital tonight. His dad and I plan to stay in D.C. most of the week.
I appreciate your prayers for Sekoe, his father's health as we travel as well as safety. See you on Monday.

I am very happy to hear the good news! God is working!
It's always important to remember that things happen for a reason. Sometimes God just knows better than us. Never lose hope!
I am very glad that things went well. I have been in that position and know that God can do wonderful things. Wish him the best! Safe traveling on your way home.
Mrs. White,
I know you said he was hit in the eye but what exactly happened?
It is good to hear that your son is doing well. Have a safe trip home, Take care.
So glad to hear your son is doing well. Hope you all have a safe trip home and that Sekoe will be good-as-new very soon! Take care and drive safely.

The road to recovery is going well. Sekoe is doing well. We will leave tomorrow/Sunday to return to Lexington. We've stayed in a hotel on campus this week so I feel like I've still be in college all week - complete with 7 college students in our room at one time. I'll miss them but it will be good to get back to teaching. They didn't seem to want me to give them any assignments - GO FIGURE!
I'm glad to hear that his surgery went well! I was wondering what happened since he had to have surgery on his eye. Well, the important thing now is the recovery process! Good luck and tell him to get well soon.
I am glad everything went well. It is good to hear the good news. Hopefully he will recover quickly.
You know that God is not to give you more than you can handle. So Mrs. White you must be a stronge woman to manage these major life trials.
I so glad to hear that he came through okay. I hope he recovers his sight, I could only imagine how hard it is for him not to be able to see 100%.
I am so glad that your son is ok!! But i'll be praying for your husband!
Mrs. White,
I wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers tonight. God is using you so much...thanks for being a support system and such an encouragement to me.

I am so glad that he is doing ok. I think having eye surgery is pretty scary ordeal. When the doctors thought that I was going to go blind, it really changes your life.
I want everyone to know how much I appreciate your kind, supportive thoughts, words and actions here on the blog and Monday night. They truly mean a lot!!!
Life throws curves and fast balls at us sometimes before we can seem to pick up the bat and get to the plate. It's great to know there are so many in the dugout who are cheering and offering support.
God has provided me with the exact amount of strength I need to meet each challenge and the support to never have to face any of them alone.
Sekoe's eyesight continues to get better. He has decided to not play basketball this year. He will save his final year of eligibility for next year and focus on his academics this year.
Thanks again for everyone's positive thoughts and prayers.
