The Class
Hey everyone. So after we blog our introductions...then what? Are we just supposed to talk about the readings or what is going on in class? I'd just like to add that I think this class will be inspiring to us as people who will be working with individuals who have special needs. It seems that there are several people, including the instructor, who are quite passionate about this field and what they can do FOR THE CHILDREN. I have worked as a paraeducator in an FMD class and I have substituted for several different types of classes, so I have seen a lot of issues occur which I don't think should. I have found that the greatest problem to deal with often involves things we can not control or even help at times like home issues, parents, community, etc. It can be really discouraging to feel that sense of failure when you can't help the child with all the things they need help with. I really think that is part of the reason everyone else (meaning people outside of the field) think special education is such a "challenging" field. It's good to see people fighting for the children though, especially future educators who CAN make a difference in those children's lives.
