I figured that I would try to statt a new discussion for each of us to try to respond too... I just wondered if anyone would want to tell us all why they decided to go into special education.I'll start.I think I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, but I always thought that I would teach high school history, but my senior year in high school we had a thing called peer tutoring that we did for one semester. During my peer tutoring time I was in a special education classroom. At first I was a little nervous, but when Christmas break came and the semester was changing I didn't want to leave the classroom. The kids in that room had left such and impact on me and that I fell in love with them. I had my schedule changed so that I could stay there the rest of my senior year. After my graduation I decided that I still wanted to teach but just a different subject. I still go back to that school and help out with that class when I get the chance. I love kids and I think that this will be a very rewarding job. Anyone want to share theirs?
