Melanie Alsip

Greetings from Corbin, Kentucky. My name is Melanie Alsip and I am finally a senior after four long years. I am married and a mother of 2 boys, which are the light of my life and what drives me to continue with my education.
I had volunteered in the school system quiet often until the past year when my youngest was born. During that time, I spent most of my days in the Resource Room where my oldest son spends the majority of his day. He has a rare disorder and requires a lot of one on one assistance. The experience of working with the other children made me realized how much I enjoyed this field and because of this experience I changed my major to Special Education Learning and behavior disorder P-12 and P-5 Elem Ed.
I am excited to learn all I can in this field, because will it not only make me a better teacher, but it will make me a better parent at home.

That is exactly what I am majoring in! I am very exctied to finally know what I want to do with my life. I have been undecided for a while now. It felt really good coming back to school this year with a good direction of what I am doing and why I am here! Good luck with everything.

Isn't it though, it saves so much on gas and not to mention, it is soooooo much nicer to share the trip with someone. The trip seems to get longer and longer when you are by yourself, because I HATE to drive. see ya guys, good luck on the test
