September 11

I was just sitting here watching news clips from September 11, and it really took me back to that what I was doing when it happened. I remember i was a freshman in high school and i was in algebra class and our teacher told us what happened and turned on the Tv. I didn't get it I didn't even know what the world trade centers were so it took me a while to understand how big of a deal it was! I was just wondering if other people remember what they were doing, and how they felt as that tragedy happened.

I remember that day like it just happened. I can tell you everything in detail of what i was doing. But mostly I remember listening to the radio and 98.1 the bull was saying that an airplane just hit the WTC. I was thinking and saying to myself 'How the hell did the pilot not see that' then a few minutes later they said another plane had hit the second tower. Then I was flabbergasted trying to figure out what was going on, I thought maybe the entire control tower had went out or something very strange, never did I dream it would have been the magnitude or a terror attack. I was on my way to the jewelry store glued to the radio in the car, then the reports were coming out. I remember for days being glued to the TV, then we finally had to turn it off. I could only take so much. I called everyone in my family thay day to check on them.

It always scares me to think about the whole situation. Everyone on my dads side of the family is firefighters and EMT's. So everytime somethin like this happens it makes me think that if it had been closer to Kentucky they would have been involved. Then I may have been one of the people who lost someone in that tragady. I can also remeber what I was doing and I don't think that it hit me until after the fact what was really going on and the magnitude of the situation.

I get chills when I just think about that day. I was a sophomore in high school in my World Civ class. My teacher had turned on the TV and I sat there in awe. My first instinct was to start praying for every single person involved in the tragedy. Then I went straight up to my mother's classroom (she works at the high school) and hugged her with all of my might. I was very emotional that day, as I started thinking about my family and how life can be taken away from you any moment...it made me quite emotional that entire week.

I had an uncle in the pentagon and freinds at a college that was near the towers. I was working at an animal clinic when my husband called to tell me what happened. The friends that were close to the towers were his two daughters. He was already making plans to bring them home before I called him. All were fine.

That is truly a day that I will never forget. I can remember details from that day so clearly. I remember being glued to the TV for hours. I think it is important as a nation that we never forget the details of what happened and all the heroes that gave their lives for our country.

I remember exactly what i was doing on that horrible day, i try not to think about it because i have friends who are EMT's and firefighters, so i try to talk about that in front of them. I was a sophomore in HS sitting in my AP World Civilization class, and the teacher came running in from the other room, and was crying, she said the WTC had been hit. And time itself stopped. I retrieved my cell phone because my brother-in-law was supposed to be on the first plane that hit the WTC, so immediately my heart stopped. Luckily for his sake, my neice had been sick, so he cancelled the flight to stay home with her. Isnt that just so freaky? It gives me goosebumps everytime i think about it. I will never forget these precious moments in time, but who really would?

My nephew serves in the Air Force. He was stationed at Andrews at the time. My sister and brother in law happened to be visiting them at that time. Needless to say they locked down Andrews. They weren't able to leave for a few days. It was quite scary.

I was taking a music appreciation test when I first heard about the trade centers. Classes were cancelled the rest of the day and I remember sitting in my dorm room watching what happened in the Pentagon and the crash in Virginia of the other plane that I knew was headed for the White House. The last thing was I filled up with gas because it was at like $4.00 a gallon that night. Now that seems like an ordinary thing.

I too was a freshman in high school. I found out during my drama and theatre class. One of the guys in my class who sat beside me said, "I don't know what you are all so worried about. Wwe're all going to dies someday!" which at the time seemed almost funny, coming from the class clown of a person he was. The next day, my classmates and I were much more upset because he himself died. He was accidentally shot in a hunting accident...I can't think of september 11th without thinking of him.

Now, that I sit and think about Sept 11, I have discovered how odd it is that we all remember what we were doing that day and proable always will. I had taken my sister to the doctor and remember everything that happened that day. It is sorta scary that such an event triggers our memory, so that we remember every detail
