Shew, finally!

Sorry for the delay, but I was having trouble with posting a new blog. Anywho, my name is Alisa Friedly. I hale from Frankfort, Ky. where I've lived since I was about 2 years old. I am a third year student, just transfering from Morehead State University. So really I feel like a freshman all over again. I just changed my major from Special Education MSD to DHH. However, I just learned that EKU does indeed have MSD (which I was not aware of when I transfered.) So I think I might switch back and minor in DHH. I have a passion for teaching special needs children. Why? I could never tell you, really. It's like a calling. I just feel like it's the best thing I could do with my life. I am dyslexic and although not as severely as some, I know what it's like to struggle. I want to give EVERY child the chance he or she deserves. My idols and inspiration are my grandmother (who was a teacher for 23 years), my sister (who is also going into Elementary Ed., and Ron Clark and Erin Gruwell (from the Freedom Writers Diary). I want to change the world for generations of kids wherever I teach. It will take a lot of work to get there, but nothing is more rewarding than seeing children achieve and be proud of themselves. :) Nothing could be better...true story.
