Being Sneaky

I work at a veterinary hosptial in Danville and we have volunteers from KSD or Kentucky School for the Deaf come to see exactly what we do and to get experience working. When Jenna's mom spoke the other night she mentioned that deaf students are very sneaky. The other day we had a student at our work who was working outside with our Doggie Daycare dogs with no coat on. We knew she had to be cold and when we asked if she had a coat she said no. We found that she did have a sweatshirt but she didn't want to wear so they are sneaky!!

Would a sweat shirt be considered as a coat?
Just curious, because I wouldn't, I wonder if it could have been similar to what Jenna's mom said about her understanding of the words, maybe she didn't relate the sweat shirt to a coat.
