Language and communication is at the heart of society. Learning how to use language to communicate wants and have needs met can be a complex task for many children. Our course will explore how language develops and the intricate challenges many children face who experience a variety of physical, emotional and cognitive difficulties.

You are welcome.
I want to reiterate that the ONLY reason I am doing this is because I want to emphasize that the key to education, AT ANY LEVEL, is student LEARNING. I am not about having students jump through hoops or the typical trappings of the traditional educational setting.
I am truly interested in designing an assessment that allows you to demonstrate what you have learned and therefore know and are able to do as a result of being in this class over the past semester. The effort you have put into gaining knowledge and translating that into what you can do with that should then represent the grade you earn for the course.
I hope this will impact how you approach your students - actively involve them in the learning and decision making process of their education.

I would agree!!! I think it is GREAT that you allow us to test in a way that is BEST fir the student!!! That shows you relize we each learn in different ways, and that you care about our lreaning experience!!! Thank-YOU!!!
I have to agree that it is awesome how much you care about how we learn and take into consideration what is best for us. And just as everyone else said, thanks so much!
Actually, the only way she could have made it better would be to say...you have all been such attentive, wonderful students that there will be no final. Then we would not study the last important material and it would be lost to us forever. So, here's to you, Mrs. White, for being the best you can be and giving us the best opportunity to learn that you could.
Have you all seen that commercial where the mother serves the kids Tyson chicken and they stand up on the couch or in their chairs? That's what I thought of, Sheila, when I read your last sentence. I appreciate everyone's comments. You know I'm just looking for "a few good teachers" to make a difference in the lives of the students of Kentucky's kids of tomorrow. I walk the halls with them. They deserve the best. I believe I look in the eyes of many who have the potential to be just that.
Thank you so much Mrs. White for an online final, now i can stay off of the highway that day. And thank you again for the bonus, i did enjoy the guest speaker last Monday night.
